"What is a poor maid such as me meant to do in this debacle I find myself in?" Alice thinks to herself, full of worry and discontent, "I have always just wished to live a simple life!" Her days at Anderson Estate had gone well enough from the start, as she had finally been able to find work far away from her overbearing aunt and the drudgeries of the slums of London. But alas, meeting the young lord, Charles, and the criminal stable boy, Alex, has started Alice down the road to sin and lustful company.

The young lord, a fine looking man of 25, had taken quite the fancy to her. A lusty sort of man, his hands rarely kept away from her lush body and often sought her out while she was trying to do chores. Charles, being an arrogant young lord, sees the servants as just an extension of his estate; often treating them as such. A truly undesirable position to be in as the stern yet alluring Alice (even if she did find his looks rather attractive.)

Another maid, Stephanie, had taken to feeling a rather stupendous amount of jealously for what Stephanie saw as Alice's "fortunes" in finding favor with Lord Anderson. Stephanie was beautiful and attractive in her own right, but Lord Charles does not find favor in her more "flirty" and "scandalous" way of carrying herself.

Walter the head butler thus finds himself in a position of great annoyance, seeing his obnoxiously arrogant lord flirting with one of the maids, while the other maid intentionally seeks his attention! Walter had before served a respectable Scottish lord well versed in chivalry and swordplay, and now found himself fastened to working for a rude, English scoundrel all because of his son. A rebellious sort, his son Alex had been convicted for crimes of assault and thievery that made him unemployable to most. Alex's frustrated father had moved to Scotland in order to help his son find a job, and had been able to become head butler along with getting his son employed as stable boy. Walter's frustrations had reached a boiling point with his son, who still acts mischievous and criminal even after getting a second chance.
