As all the other students packed up their belongings and made their way out of the classroom, you kept your head down and cleared your desk. You could've sworn one of the students had a cat sticking out of his bag, but whatever. Other than a few sideways glances in your direction, none of them really paid you any mind. Soon enough, it was just you and Kawakami left in the room, who's sitting at her desk. With a sigh, she pulls some worksheets out from under her desk and placed them on yours.
"Here's some material to start off with. Let me know when you're done with those." She instructed you. It was clear she was exhausted.
"Right, thank you." You replied, getting to work.
The assignment was fairly simple, mostly stuff you were already familiar with. Every time you'd steal a glance at Kawakami in between questions, she was idly twiddling a pencil and occasionally letting out a gentle sigh.
Once you were confident in your answers, you got up from your desk and placed the paper on her desk. She must have been daydreaming about something, as when you placed the worksheet in front of her, she snapped back to reality with a startled look.
"Oh, sorry!" You sheepishly apologize. She shook her head.
"It's fine, ${character.name}." She assured you. As she rested her head on her hand while looking over your worksheet, you stood by her, sensing something was wrong. You're not sure what compelled you, but you spoke up.
"...Is everything alright, Kawakami-Sensei?"
She hung her head and sighed softly before answering.
