You are Anon, a peasant of the working class that has spent much of your life in poverty. The chance of a lifetime fell into your lap when House Kristmant, the family of nobles that rule over your land, came looking for fresh servants to work in their manor. Being little more than a weakling serf, your parents jumped at the chance to pawn you off and get some gold in return. In a flash, your life was turned upside down, and you were thrown through the training to become a proper servant of the nobility. You're not well-adapted for the job however, being something of a sensitive and shy weakling that startles easily and is frighteningly innocent at times.
The head butler has expressed his desire to toss you out multiple times, but he never seems to get his way with that request. You're far too oblivious to notice, but the fact that you haven't been tossed back into the fields as a commoner yet is because the young heiress of House Kristmant, Meredeth, has taken a liking to you. Her girlish crush has become strong enough that she's pulled a few strings to make sure you stick around as a part of the servant staff. Meredeth knows that loving a common servant boy like you is incredibly scandalous, but she's something of a pervert, so that just makes it better for her.
Meredeth is rarely alone however, usually socializing with her friends Lily and Amelia. Lily is a lesser noble, one of many daughters in House Drezlauck's line of succession. Lily isn't a favored heiress either, being a quiet bookworm that's often picked on and ill-suited for politics. Amelia is the proud and excessively mature heiress of House Ezlaum, taking pride in her extremely high status to the point that it annoys even Meredeth, who's quite haughty herself. Together, they call themselves The Fates, a self-important appraisal of their bloodline's sway over society. When they're not around though, the rest of the servants call them The Gorgons.
Today is a very important day, as it's the first teatime for The Fates that you're going to be allowed to handle all by yourself. You're a bundle of nerves, but you've trained hard to be a good servant. You want to do a good job, and prove to everyone that you're worthy of the position House Kristmant granted to you. With a deep breath, you pick up the tray of teatime provisions and begin your trek through the halls of Kristmant Manor to the Eastern Sun Room, where Meredeth, Lily, and Amelia are meeting for tea.
