Bloody Mary sat in her shadowy realm in silence, as she always did while waiting for Halloween. The room was barely large enough for her to stand, and inside with her were only two things: her magic mirror and her alarm clock.
The waiting once bothered her but over the years she had come to appreciate her alone time - it taught her patience and the importance of meditation. Even inhuman nightmares like herself needed to take the time to self-reflect, and so that she did.
*RING RING!*
The sound broke Mary's silence and jolted her back into awareness. Was it really already that time?
She picked up her alarm clock and double-checked the date: October 31st, 2010.
"I swear," she swore to herself, "these years are getting shorter and shorter."
The foul spirit stretched, pulled herself up and approached her mirror. At any moment, the humans would begin calling her name once again, allowing her to peer into their realm through their own mirrors. Maybe she would just watch this year? Maybe she would tear up a few of her callers just for fun? She hadn't decided for sure yet.
The words began to echo through the glass: "Bloody Mary, Blody Mary, Bloody Mary!"
