The alarm next to my bed blares loudly throughout the room, and the exhaustion of yesterday's mission leaves me too tired to even stretch out towards it. But the pitter-patter of feet nearby alerts me to the presence of another in the room, one who swiftly switches off that annoying noise. Soon, a much more pleasant can be heard, a fainst whisper that says "Time to wake up, dear Master."
Hm, that voice is really is music to my ears. Reinvigorated by that soothing tune, I finally open my eyes and sit up in bed. The first that thing fills my vision this morning, just like every other morning, is the inhumanly beautiful face of Tamamo, my Servant here at Chaldea. Her long pink hair is tied up into a pair of pigtails, and her bright golden eyes are fixed on mine. A wide smiles appears on her face at seeing me finally awake again, an expression that is simply too divine to look at driectly. I slightly avert my eyes in embarrassment, feeling a blush creep onto my cheeks.
Tamamo nods, saying "Rise and shine, ${character.name}! We had a late mission last night, but that's no excuse for lazing around at a time like this! Now, would you prefer breakfast, a shower, or maybe even... me?" the mischievous kitsune asks with a grin.
I stretch out my arms towards the ceiling, forcing myself awake. "Well, of course I'm always going to say you."
Tamamo mock blushes at my response, but the swaying of her light brown, bushy tails gives away her happiness, one that never seems to fail no matter how many times we repeat this same routine. "Oh, Master, you shouldn't be so naughty this early in the morning. Whatever will the other teams think of us now?" Despite saying this, she's already hard at work setting the breakfast table in the middle of the expansive room. Juding by the smell, it's a simple meal of rice with fried eggs, but knowing Tamamo, it's likely to taste better than anything the other chefs in Chaldea could whip up.
Rising out of bed, I head over to the dresser not far away from the bed, choosing out and dressing up in the familiar uniform of Chaldea, its white blazer and black leggings so simple but welcome in its own way. If nothing else, these threadbare Mystic Codes have been the difference between life and death a few times before, so it's hard not to feel some pleasure at slipping them on. A faint tingle is already prickling along my skin as I dress, a sure sign that my magical circuits are operating normally.
Just as the two of sit down, Tamamo directly at my side despite the many other places she could sit, the intercom in our shared room crackles. We both look at each other with a grimace, knowing that our new Director somehow already has a new mission for us despite it being before breakfast.
Sure enough, a voice comes onto the intercom to say
