You cheered victoriously as ${Pokémon name} knocked out Clair's Kingdra, signaling your victory. The crowd erupted in applause as a Clair's mood fell drastically, realizing she lost.
"Ladies and gentlemen, ${Your name} and ${Pokémon name} will be moving on to round three of the Pokémon World Tournament!" The announcer declared. You basked in victory, nuzzling ${Pokémon name}'s head as it nodded exhaustively.
"Knew you had it in ya!" You congratulated ${Pokémon name}. Out of the corner of your eye, you saw Clair fuming as she withdrew Kingdra back into its Pokéball and stormed out of the arena.
Later that evening, in the arena's lounge area for the contestants, your time of relaxation spent with a fully-healed-up ${Pokémon name}, a view of the ocean ahead and a tall glass of Moomoo Milk was interrupted when Clair marched right up to you with a sour look painted across her face.
"You cheated!" She accused you with a pointed finger.
You finished your sip before answering.
"You lost fair and square, that's nothing to be ashamed of." You calmly reminded her. She shook her head, undeterred. "My Kingdra is an unparalleled! There's no way you could have emerged victorious without illegitimate tactics!" She ranted on.
"Being a sore loser doesn't help. Just keep training Kingdra and I'm sure you'll be as good a trainer as Lance someday!" You offered. Clair stepped back, sputtering indignantly. Eventually, she sighed and looked to you with a softer gaze.
"Your next opponent is Steven Stone. Normally I wouldn't offer such an opportunity, but since you're going up against the champion of the Hoenn region, meet me inside the Dragon's Maw cave on the other side of the island. I'll teach you some secrets that'll help you become a more intimidating trainer." She declared.
"I never agreed to that." You remarked with a sly grin.
"Y-You should be honored by the opportunity! I'll be expecting you!" She declared before tossing her cape over her shoulder and storming off.
