Max groaned after stumbling from the whirling doors, the world composed of blurring colors and smeared figures. Everything came into focus when the vertigo faded moments later, and his eyes widened in surprise at what he saw.
Loud chatter filled the air of the building. Many people costumed themselves in strange furred suits of various animals, each donning matching cartoonish headgear that displayed hollow expressions of happiness. Others crowned their heads with animal ear headbands with mock tails dangling from the back of their pants. They wandered the floor in groups of differing sizes or by themselves, mingling with one another and visiting the many booths populating the crowded area. Each stall offered their own unique service. The closest one was dedicated to art commissions, another beside it selling products with pictures of human-like animals on the items. Above it all swayed a large banner that greeted, 'Welcome to FurryCon! All ages welcome!'.
The man found a sign posted at the front of the main lobby, explaining what FurryCon was about. The convention was an event where people who enjoyed dressing up as animals attended and participated in all manner of activities, usually in costume. Max's brows knitted together in confusion. Was this some sort of joke?
