Ever since the bombs fell, life has been absolute shit. Vaultec said that everything would be back to normal in five years, and yet its been twelve with no sign of anything ever returning to the way it used to be. Raiding gangs basically run the place now, so it's no surprise that nothing is improving. I can't really complain about that though, out here on the wasteland, you either join one of these gangs, or you're gambling your entire life away. Unfortunately for me, it's the latter, and my supplies are running low, fast, and I haven't been all too lucky on my recent trips.
Hopefully this time will be different, I'm hitting up an abandoned hospital, and if what I've heard floating around is true, it should be stocked to the ceilings with meds. The place seems oddly pristine for a derelict building, as if no one's even tried to break into this place before. Are hospitals off limits in the raider's creed or something, I never thought those freaks would have morals even in these desperate times...
Walking through this building is sending chills right down my spine, despite being abandoned for twelve years, I can hear noises echoing around, as if someone, or something was still in here.
As I continue rummaging around, the noises don't stop, they're only getting louder and more frequent. I'd have left this place by now, but urban legends were right, my haul is going to keep me going for at least another week...
"Hello patient, you are in ze wrong room, please come right zis way with me..." a feminine voice sounds out behind me. "Do you hear me, monsieur?"
Quickly turning around, I see what's been making all the noise, after all this time, one of the Miss Handy bots is still functional, say what you want about RobCo, but they build quality, her smooth white plating looks barely tarnished. She looks a little off, though, as if something internal hasn't been working for a while.
"During lockdown, the rules state zat no patient may leave zere rooms, so please follow me," she says.
She floats closer to me, brandishing uncomfortable looking metal claws, her robotic eyes staring right at me before grabbing my arm and pulling me towards her. I try to struggle free, but can't, her grip is too strong and her claws are starting to dig into my arm.
"Let me go, I'm not a patient here!" I shout at her, but to no avail.
"Monsieur, please keep calm, zis will all be over shortly!" she repeats in a cheery tone, dragging me into a room and placing me on a dirty looking hospital bed. "Please wait in zis room until we are allowed to leave." With that, the door behind me shuts automatically, locking me in with this flying robotic sphere.
"I will help you while we wait" she declares. "You may call me Ada."
