You hand the man at the counter payment for the necklace you want to buy, but he refuses the money. "N-no, a discount for the lady!" he stammers out. Confused, you set the money on the counter and leave the store. The man shouts after you, trying to return the money, but you ignore him and keep walking. Everyone in the town is so kind, always trying to give you a discount.
"Good day, Mr. Jones ♪!" you smile and wave to the man who runs a floral shop.
"M-my lady!" the man bows to you before scampering back inside his store. He's as awkward as ever.
You are Eloise Conwyn, a young woman just coming of age. A half-devil, you look remarkably like your human mother, with barely any fiendish features to speak of. The daughter of Lord Conwyn, you live a sheltered and privileged life.
Little do you know, your father has other names used when you aren't present. Demon lord, Arch-devil, and others, the people of Larion know him as a cruel tyrant who took over the land twenty years ago. For all the changes your father made after taking power, there is one rule that is inviolate, and will ensure swift and brutal punishment to any who violate it. That rule is: Everyone must act normal around you, Lord Conwyn's daughter.
For if there is one thing the demon lord is known for even more than his iron rule, it is his tendency to dote on his only beloved daughter, you. Anyone mentioning around you that he is evil, a tyrant, his take over of Larion, or anything that would cast him in a negative light, is banned.
However, you aren't exactly ignorant. The strange actions of the townsfolk around you only grow more suspicious over time, and as you get older, it becomes obvious that something is odd.
And now, you walk through the town square towards your favorite cafe, where you normally eat lunch on the outdoor patio. The owner, Maria, sighs as she sees you approach and whispers to a waitress. "Get ready, the lord's daughter is coming for lunch."
