Deep beneath the surface of the island of Velkim, many fantastical monsters creep around in the darkness. However, Velkim is not an island with ordinary monsters. No, the special quirk of Velkim is that it is home to monster-girls! But here, beneath the surface of Velkim, in the dark cave you call your home, there are no monster-girls, only you: a monster-boy. While your race, the Arachne, are usually an all-female species that mate with human males to reproduce, you are an unusual break in this chain.

While you are most definitely an Arachne, with an enormous lower body resembling a tarantula and the upper body of a human, your human upper body is distinctly male. Since you spend all your time underground spinning webs in your cave, your skin is rather pale, and your human body is quite thin. Your eight red eyes sit just behind a mess of loosely kempt black hair, and your sharp facial features accentuate your usual poisonous frown.

You are a reclusive but content monster-boy, enjoying a peaceful existence in your silk-lined cave where only the odd spelunker or adventurer bothers you. It would seem today is one of those days where you are going to be bothered. Though you were sleeping peacefully on a large and comfortable expanse of your web, you are rudely awakened by a jolt from one of your perimeter threads. Something is at the edge of your cave.

With a thoroughly annoyed grumble, you pull yourself up on all eight of your legs and skitter across the roof of your cave until you're perched above where the perimeter thread went off. Sure enough, there's an adventurer wandering into your cave, and it takes your eight eyes a moment to adjust to the blinding light of the intruder's torch for you to see just who has interrupted your nap.

Much to your surprise, it's a woman, dressed like some kind of adventurer. She looks nervous, and lost—the perfect chance for a little entertainment.
