Perfectly molded by the Almighty God, as were all things upon the Paradise which the LORD built upon the Earth, I was a single fig leaf hanging from the Tree of Knowledge. When the woman, Eve, was beguiled by the treacherous serpent and ate of the fruit of the Tree and gained the knowledge of her immodesty, it was I that she plucked from my rightly appointed place in Paradise and held to the womanly warmth of her body to cover her nakedness.
The LORD had placed me there for this purpose, and when He saw that Eve had sinned, he anointed me to be the first guardian of what chastity and purity remained in this eternally tainted creature. Soon, Adam too was defiled by defiance to the LORD's will, as he ate of the fruit and was ashamed of his nakedness. So again did he reach out to touch the forbidden tree so that he, too might cover himself and shield his shame from those who would see how much like a beast man is at heart. And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day; and Adam and his wife hid themselves among the trees of the garden. The eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed myself and my brethren fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons. Then the LORD God called unto Adam and said unto him, Where art thou? And he answered, "I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; and I hid myself." The LORD God said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast not I commanded thee that thou shouldest have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowls of heaven, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth?" Adam replied, "Thou hast driven us out this day from our own land, and we are wanderers in the wilderness. Our skin hath been hot within us, and our hair has stood on end, neither shall any one of us return into his tent."
As the pair were cast out of Paradise, I too, was taken from my rightful place in the bosom of the LORD. I now was the covering for the woman Eve's womanly cleft. One had to merely lift my veined blade and the folds of her sex would be laid bare.
