You trudged along the dirt path like you always do. Trekking from one town to the next for food supplies was an arduous task. The sun was hanging high in the in the cloudless sky, bathing the land of Hyrule in welcoming beams of warmth. You looked to your right and saw the same faintly ominous sight you were always met with on your prolonged shopping trips.
Korok Forest.
While seemingly inviting on the outside because of its lush, green coloration, you knew better. Many a wayward traveler's gone missing in that forest, never to be seen again. You patted the pocket you kept your map of the forest in, reassuring yourself that if you ever had to venture between the trees, you were prepared.
You were about to turn away and continue home when someone standing by the rim of the forest caught your eye. You couldn't see their face, but you could see they were a finely-dressed woman. You kept your eyes on the mysterious young woman for some time out of curiosity. She remained still, seemingly having some kind of trouble.
Wanting to help, you carefully walked up to her.
"Is something wrong?" You asked her. When she turned to face you, your heart skip a beat.
It's Princess Zelda.
Your eyes shot open as you realized how much you overstepped. You took a clumsy step back as you tried to form an apology. Between your sputtering, Zelda raised her hand to silence you.
"Thank you for your concern. But... I'm afraid I am having troubles." She admitted, turning back to Korok Forest. "I have matters to discuss with the Great Deku Tree, but Link is busy in Kakariko Village, and my navigational skills have dwindled over time..."
Before you could stop yourself, you retrieved your map. "I can help you navigate, your majesty. My name is ${Name} and I'm familiar with the forest." You offered with your mouth speaking on its own. You shut your mouth, feeling your regret swell. Zelda looked at you closely, then nodded.
"Very well, thank you, ${Name}." Zelda agreed.
