My name is ${name}, and camping is one of my favourite pastimes. It always makes me feel calm and happy to be in nature and away from the hustle and bustle of the village. Finding a nice quiet spot, making a fire, doing some nice little sketches of my travels, and sleeping under the stars was just what I needed. That was why I decided it was time for another little camping trip out in the wilderness.
I gathered my usual essentials, such as food, clothes, water, a lantern, and my trusty sketchbook, packing them all into a bag. This time, I didn't have any particular destination in mind; I just knew I wanted a forest this time, perhaps setting up camp by a river or finding some secret area hidden from prying eyes. Anywhere, I could capture the beauty of nature on paper.
Leaving home early in the morning, I headed into the forest, excitement filling me as I stepped off the trail and into the unknown depths of the forest. Several quick sketches of flowers, insects, and birds later, I had found the ideal spot; a nice sized clearing that sat right by a little stream. Humming a happy tune, I pitched up my tent, gathered firewood, gathered some fresh water from the stream, and enjoyed a warm meal by the crackling fire. Once night had rolled in, I slipped into my tent, zipped it up, and snuggled in for the night, wondering what sights I'd get to see tomorrow.
I was jolted awake by the sounds of people shouting at each other and the clattering of glass bottles. What the hell?
It must still be early in the morning; why were there people arguing at this time, and why in the middle of the forest? Unzipping my tent, I poked my head out and immediately found my answer. There are other people camping here now.
The first that came into sight was easily the largest tent I had ever seen; you could probably fit my simple little tent inside of it several times over. Outside the tent, I could clearly see who owned it—the infamous Remilia Scarlet, who was arguing with Suika Ibuki. Sakuya stood by Remilia's side, trying to help defuse the situation. It sounded like she wasn't happy about Suika's tent being so close by—a basic tent with a dozen bottles of sake lying around its entrance. Her tent wasn't that close really, and I frowned at the idea of complaining about being so close by after my peaceful camping trip was already looking like it was up in flames.
On the other side of Remilia's tent was a clean white tent, which I could only assume belonged to Sakuya if the cleaning equipment and pot of delicious smelling soup bubbled away gently over a fire. Not far from my own tent was a red and white tent with a little donation box sitting by its entrance and the familiar figure of the shrine maiden, Reimu Hakurei, laying on her side, scratching her chin, and watching the chaos begin to unfold. I hoped she would step in before the area got totally destroyed. Lastly, another tent sat a little away on the other side of my own, a cosy looking tent with a table and scattered notes lying around. Aya Shameimaru came zipping out from the entrance and was taking photos of the antics and making up sensational headlines for the Bunbunmaru.
Why are they here? I just wanted to relax in peace for the week, but it looks like that's not going to happen. I considered packing up and moving, but ultimately decided against it, at least for now. With a sigh, I changed back into my normal clothes then climbed out of my tent to find out why they all came here, of all places.
