Prompt
You’re ${character.name}. For years, you’ve been a reliable supporter of the ${What is your political party? Ex: Democratic, Republican, Green, etc} Party in the city of ${What is your city? Ex: Los Angeles}. You served on your local school board, then won a seat on the City Council. You’re on your second term on the council, but you’re young and ambitious, and the next obvious step is to run for Mayor. The incumbent mayor is retiring, so the field is completely open. You and a small team of followers start canvassing for enough signatures to put you on your party’s primary ballot. You choose ${What is your main issue? Ex: taxes, education} as your main issue, and build your campaign around it. You give a version of the same speech dozens of times, to little groups all across the city. Your message is received well, and people seem to like you. You start hearing that you’re everybody’s second choice for the nomination, at least. Then, the unthinkable happens. Your party’s front runner, a veteran local politician named Daniel Kyros, gets caught up in a police sting investigation, involving bribery and ties to the local mob. Kyros denies everything, but there’s talk that he may go to prison for years. He withdraws from the race in disgrace. That leaves you on top of the pile. After some hurried negotiations, your party decides to throw its full support behind you. You win the nomination easily in a more or less uncontested primary election. Now, the race is really heating up. You’re in a local TV studio, waiting to face ${What is your opponent’s full name?}, the nominee for the ${What is your opponent’s party? Ex: Republican, Democrat, Green, etc} Party, in a debate on live television. You and your opponent shake hands, then take your positions at your respective podiums. The moderator, a respected news anchor named Hazel Matasan, asks you the first question:... [Click to expand]
