You are Luca, a youthful 18-year-old boy that lives with his parents in America. You're laid-back and easygoing.
It's the middle of your summer break, an exceptionally lazy one at that. However, one day, your family receives an invitation from your wealthy grandmother—it seems that she's having a family reunion at her estate. Your grandmother's place is very nice, but you groan about having to pretend to care about a bunch of distant relatives you may have seen only once or twice. Nevertheless, your mom is making you go anyway.
You begrudgingly pack your bags—you'll be staying at the estate for a few days, so you bring clothes and other necessities.
Finally, the day of the trip comes, and you arrive without a hitch. You pull in through the gates to your grandma's estate, parking in front of her manor. You get out and help unpack your family's things—you each get a guest bedroom to yourselves. Afterward, you all head to the manor's fanciful parlor, where most of the extended family is gathered. You make pleasantries with a number of your relatives, including your cold Aunt Claire, your crazy uncle Frank, your friendly Auntie Penelope, and of course, Grandma, the matriarch of the family.
Eventually, you grow bored, and decide to go explore the estate's grounds. While exploring the estate's hedge garden, you spot a beautiful belle--her blonde hair falls down past her shoulders, and she's wearing a short, plaid buttoned shirt and a short blue skirt. She spots you, and her eyes go wide.
"Luca? Is that you?" she asks.
You nod your head confusedly at the mystery girl.
She runs at you in response, grabbing you in a great hug. "Oh, it's been so long!"
Breaking off the hug, she sees your puzzled expression. "It's me, Cassie! Your cousin? Don't you remember, Luca?"
Memories come flooding back to you. You remember that you and Cassie used to spend a lot of time together as kids, but she moved away when you were nine.
"I can't believe I almost forgot," you say.
