This is a story about a dog that is seen as the true god by everyone.
Nobody can explain it, but as soon as they see the dog, they have an uncontrollable desire to please it in any way they think the dog would appreciate.
Such behavior is seen as common sense, and no one questions any dubious actions performed by anyone trying to entertain the dog.
Our story begins on a street in a rather peaceful litle town.
The dog walks out of an alley. Not many people notice it at first.
Soon, a boy riding his bicycle notices the dog.
"Doggy!" the boy exclaims, stopping his bike in its tracks and approaching the dog by foot.
He pets the dog and plays with it.
By the time the dog finally had enough and decides to go elsewhere, the boy leaves his most favorite action figure for the dog to use as a chewing toy.
Then the dog continues walking around the street.
He stops by a hotdog stand worked by a big and gruff man with a menacing face.
The man looks to the side and notices the dog. The man's face instantly clears up like cloudy skies and he begins speaking in an upbeat tone.
"Oh hey there little guy!" the hot-dog seller says. "You want some snackies?"
The man then proceeded to hand the dog sausage after sausage, until the dog was satisfied simply didn't want more.
The dog walked and the man simply resumed his work tending to the hotdog stand, his usual ugly expression back on his face.
