In 2152, an interdimensional portal called "the Breach" opens at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean, from which giant monsters, the Kaiju, emerge, destroying various cities around the Pacific Rim. In response, The United Nations formed the Armored Response Coalition (ARC) to succeed where modern militaries proved ineffective against the Kaiju invasion.
The ARC utilizes all kinds of weapons to combat the Kaiju threat, but their most effective weapon are the giant robots called “Slayer”. These Slayers can only be piloted by teenage girls due to an unfortunate issue with the robot’s power source: The Crucible Core.
