You duck cautiously beneath a low-hanging web, careful not to make contact. You have to admit, the Lustweb spider certainly has an interesting way of capturing it's prey; where other spiders use their webs to ensnare insects and other small creatures, the Lustweb instead coats its in a mild stimulant that produces a pleasant tingling and mild euphoria when touched. After finding a Lustweb den, many less intelligent animals will simply trot inside and wrap themselves in the pleasure-inducing silken strands, doing the spider's job for it. The irony of creeping into such a den the way you are isn't lost on you.
"Focus, ${name}." You remind yourself, keeping your eyes peeled as you make your way deeper into the dank, dreary cave, listening for the telltale pitter-patter of spider legs on stone. For a creature the size of your head, Lustwebs are surprisingly soft of foot, possessed of a grace and deliberate elegance you wouldn't expect of something so large.
You barely spot it moving out of the corner of your eye, a slight motion, scarcely a movement at all if not for the stillness of the cave. For a moment you stare at the blank stone wall, studying it, before you notice the patch that just a little smoother, ever so slightly more reflective. Once you've figured out where to look, it's easy to make out it's form against the cave wall.
The Lustweb spider is about the size of a cat, most of it's body mass in it's bulbous, swollen abdomen. Its eight long, spindly legs are splayed unevenly around it, twitching and shifting ever so slightly to maintain balance. Unlike most larger spiders, it's completely hairless, it's segmented body and limbs covered in a dull, soft carapace. It's abdomen twitches and squirms grotesquely, swollen with eggs.
You only need to snatch one, you remind yourself—just a single Lustweb, and you can get out of this eerie cave. Taking a deep breath, you steel yourself for what you're about to do—only to hear a faint scuttling noise coming from above.
