Entry #2
The eerie sounds I could hear that night reverberating through the brick walls awoke me right at the sunset — a dark and dim horizon of a grim world.
They felt analogous to the hideous squeals of unearthly creatures, the waves of an unseen ocean battering against rock, and a chorus of tormented souls screaming into the endless void of space, those sounds. Even though they were almost inaudible, my very being felt attuned to perceive them.
Having choice other than to investigate, I took a candle from my nightstand, lit up and ventured into the empty halls, dimly lit by the raising sun. I had no idea where those noises could be emanating from.
My body still felt fresh after my first night's rest in this manor, but my mind was more exhausted than it had ever been. With every step I took, my eyes dart to the sides: paranoid of what could lurk in the dark.
My heart was beating faster and faster; could something be watching me? The carpet runner absorbed my footsteps… as I failed to neither confirm, nor deny my suspicions.
I spent the the next few hours trying to sharpen my will, to bring my resolve back. Yet, as sun rays appeared on my visage, my posture slumped and I returned back to the hearth.
Entry #3
I have been awake for two days now. Every once in a while, I dozed off into a restless sleep, but it was never for long.
I had little success finding the manor's basement — even though I was sure there was one.
