The Ranger rode into the town of Agua Fria, in pursuit of the notorious outlaw Texas Red. Red, though only a youth, had killed scores of men who had tried to bring him to justice. The Ranger asked the townsfolk for information, making plain his intentions to take Texas Red, dead or alive. Red was unafraid, confident in his ability to overcome this lawman like so many others. The two met in the street early in the morning, the Ranger prepared with his muscles on a hair trigger to draw his large revolver. The pivotal moment came, as they reached for their guns. But, suddenly,
