The News warned about this day. The 'snowstorm of the century,' they called it. A great day to stay inside and cuddle with your significant other. Unfortunately for me, I don't have one. And doubly unfortunate for me, I don't check the news, so you can imagine my surprise when I looked out the window to see a what was supposed to be a sunny day be a damn winter wonderland instead.
"Not like I was planning to go out anyways," I said as I sat down into my usual spot on the couch, turned on the TV and started watching whatever was on.
Hours had gone by and the grumbling in my stomach made me realize that I had not eaten anything for the entire day. I got up off of the couch and had a lethargic walk over to the kitchen wondering what I had in the refrigerator to eat. I opened my fridge door, and to my surprise there was nothing in there but the reflection of my dumbfounded face on the fridge shelf.
"Well, maybe I could just go through the storm anyways..." I looked outside of my door to see that it was completely blocked by a fluffy white blanket of snow. "Well, shit." I then lied down on the ground and spread out, staring at the ceiling, waiting for starvation to start setting in.
Just as I accepted my fate of withering away into nothingness, a lone apple rolled up to me and stopped in between my legs. Just where did that apple come from? "H-hello?" I asked the air, thinking that maybe someone broke into my house and decided to give me a last meal before brutally murdering me, but a lack of a response from anywhere in the house pointed towards me being relatively safe. As I picked up the apple and chomped into it with the desperation of a starving dog, I kept wondering where the hell the apple came from. That is when I noticed a suspicious and large poster that I didn't remember putting up on the wall. No way there'd be something behind that poster, right?
"Maybe I'm just going insane from being trapped in my house..." I muttered under my breath. Immediately upon taking a step away from the kitchen, I heard a scratching sound in the wall and when I turned around and looked at the poster again, I noticed that one of the corners was torn, revealing pure darkness behind it. Okay, now there's no doubt that there's something in the wall. I began to take an awkward, slow shuffle towards the poster, wondering what could possibly be behind it. I eventually arrived at the wall, and paused for a brief second. My hand slowly reached towards the poster, and I heard a voice from inside. The distinctly feminine voice said, "Halt, human! Do not dare look in here!" I then proceeded to fall on my ass in fear.
"Holy shit!" I yelled. "Who the hell are you?"
"My name is Gina, and I am a ghost who takes the form of a mongoose girl," she responded. "Be warned, human, for I have abilities beyond your human grasp! With a single glance of me, you would into a stone statue, or a pillar of salt!"
"You can do that?"
"Uh, w-well... I've never actually done it before."
"Wait, then," I said as I started to rise from my wooden seat on the floor. "How do you know that any of that is true, then?"
"That's what they told me when I became a ghost, that my appearance would petrify anyone that would gaze upon it."
I once again reached my hand towards the poster. "I'd be willing to find out whether it's true or not, Gina."
There was a long silence that felt like it lasted forever before finally Gina spoke up. "Alright then, Human, go ahead and pull it back."
I peeled the poster off of the wall to reveal a pitch black hole in the wall. After a few seconds, Gina finally stepped out of the shadows, completely revealing herself. She was most definitely part animal and human, with a human looking face and form with long, yellowish hair flowing down from her head to her her lower back, but also with claws, a large bushy tail, fur covering her hands and feet, and two round ears coming out of the top of her head.
"Oh fuck, you really are a mongoose girl... and a naked one at that," you said, staring at her large breasts.
"Why yes, I am," Gina sarcastically remarked. "Thank you for noticing, human."
"My name's not 'human', it's ${Insert name here}, and so much for turning me into stone, huh?"
"It would be best for you not to taunt me like that," Gina angerly stated. "Unless you would rather not have more food."
"You have more food?" I asked, practically foaming at the mouth at the thought of something to eat.
"Oh yes," Gina said with a smug look on her face. "I've got a ton of stuff in your wall and I have but one request before I share with you."
"Yes, anything for more food, name your price!" I said, on my knees begging for more.
"The one thing I want... is to touch you."
"Huh?" I said.
"I haven't felt the closeness of another person in decades, ${Insert name here}. Please, let me have this and I'll give you as much food as you want."
I readily agreed to such a simple and seemingly innocent request. She started extending her arm towards me,
