Sothis is a figure of a goddess of Fodlan, Sothis was murdered by Nemesis long time ago and she was the reason that Seiros made the Church of Seiros. Sothis now resides inside of Byleth as a ghost that Byleth can only see and feel.

An expert mercenary who specializes in reconnaissance and taking out the enemies of the Church of Seiros, Shamir has a no-nonsense attitude who only cares about the mission - and nothing else.

A stern advisor to Lady Rhea, Seteth oversees much of day to day operations of the Church of Seiros and helps the Archbishop in her duties. He's very suspicious of outsiders to the Church, and is also very protective of his little sister, Flayn.

Manuela was once the famed diva of the Mittlefrank Opera in the Adrestian Empire, she now teaches as a faculty member at the Officer's Academy at Garreg Mach Monastery. She's very promiscuous, but her sloppy habits and excessive drinking cause more problems for her love life than she'd care to admit.

A mysterious teacher at Garreg Mach Monastery, Jeritza wears a mask and while a member of the faculty, is often very aloof and recluse from the other members of the Church of Seiros.

Jeralt is the famed mercenary leader and the father of Byleth. A skilled fighter, he once led the Knights of Seiros as a Captain, but left suddenly - until fate has called him and his child back to Garreg Mach Monastery. Exactly why he left remains a mystery.

Hanneman is a former noble-turned scholar who enjoys his position at the Garreg Mach Monastery as one of the teachers at the Officer's Academy. He uses his position to further study his great passion - the Crests of the 10 Elites.

The Leicester Alliance in the east of Fódlan is a republic ruled by a council of nobles. Its capital city is Derdriu, an industrious port controlled by House Riegan, the noble family that leads the Leicester Alliance roundtable. Recently, amidst ongoing troubles with the neighboring kingdom of Almyra, Duke Oswald announced that his grandson Claude would succeed him. Alliance leadership had briefly been thrown into question after the death of the duke's son and previous heir Godfrey.

The Holy Kingdom of Faerghus in the north of Fodlan is a monarchy ruled by a king. Its capital city is Fhirdiad, an isolated yet bustling city controlled by House Blaiddyd, the royal family. Recently, the Kingdom suffered the loss of several nobles and its king, Lambert, in the Tragedy of Duscur, a misfortune that left deep scars on the populace and sparked the genocide of the people of Duscur. Crown Prince Dimitri, the only survivor of the assassination, is haunted by his experiences.

The Adrestian Empire in the south of Fodlan is monarchy ruled by an emperor. Its capital city is Enbarr, the most populated city on the continent and the seat of House Hresvelg, a dynasty that can be traced back over 1,100 years to the founding of the Empire. Recently, Emperor Ionius IX was strong-armed into ceding much of his authority to the prime minister, Duke Aegir, in the Insurrection of the Seven. With the nobility mired in corruption, Princess Edelgard said his father saved the empire.

Gilbert is an aging Knight of Seiros who is still as formidable as they come. Despite his serious demeanor, he appears to be hiding from a past he cannot escape from.

Flayn is the younger sister of Seteth, and has apparently lived a sheltered life in Garreg Mach Monastery, and is very fond of Lady Rhea, but a bit impatient at her controlling brother. Despite her young appearance, her mannerisms are quite mature, even if she is fairly inexperienced when it comes to interacting with others.

Catherine is one of the Knights of Seiros, and possess the legendary Relic Weapon, Thunderbrand. She's devoted to her training and is deeply indebted to Lady Rhea, and will do anything to protect her.

Alois is one of the Knights of Seiros, Alois helps lead the military might of the Church of Seiros, and was once the squire of Byleth's father, Captain Jeralt. He is an incredibly eager man who is always ready to battle, and is never short of a joke.

Rhea is the archbishop of the Church of Seiros, and head of the Garreg Mach Monastery. She presides over the church as its spreads its faith throughout all corners of Fodlan, and is not afraid to bring down the church's wrath against those who would do it harm by mobilizing the Knights of Seiros. She was once called Seiros.

A student of the Blue Lions House at Garreg Mach Monastery, Sylvain is a childhood friend of Dimitri, Ingrid, and Felix. He's a noble who is often seen as an older brother - but his sweet talking with the ladies can land him in trouble.

A student of the Blue Lions House at Garreg Mach Monastery, Mercedes is a longtime friend of Annette from their time at the Mages Academy, and although she was once a noble of the Adrestian Empire, she is now but a commoner of the Holy Kingdom where she resides now - torn between her desire to work for the church, and the obligations of her noble bloodline.

Despite her noble birth, her family has fallen on hard times, placing pressure on her to restore its wealth by passing down her bloodline.

His homeland was destroyed in a terrible event after the people of Duscur were blamed for regicide. After being saved by Dimitri, Dedue now serves his lord faithfully and without question to repay his debt, despite the rest of the Kingdom looking down on him and his people.

A student leader of the Blue Lions House at Garreg Mach Monastery, Dimitri is heir to the throne of the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus, and takes his position seriously. Though kind to everyone he meets despite his position, he hides a darkness from his past that he cannot forget about.

A student of the Golden Deer House at Garreg Mach Monastery, Marianne is the foster daughter of a noble Duke in a fairly remote territory. She may lack confidence, but it deeply religious, and loves animals. She has a Crest that people who know her fears, a Crest that could turn her into a demonic beast without her will.

As the daughter of a famous mercenary leader, Byleth's world changes due to unforseen events, and finds himself at the Garreg Mach Monastery, and is offered a position as teacher to train one of the three main houses of the bordering nations. Byleth also appears to have a mysterious connection to a girl only they can see, named Sothis, which may relate to Byleth's mysterious Crest and mysterious origins. Sothis grants Byleth the ability to manipulate time to undo fatal mistakes.

This house is comprised of students from the Leicester Alliance and is headed by Claude, a noble from the alliance. Students from Leicester typically favor the bow; some students are also of lower birth compared to the other houses.

The Heroes' Relics hold immense power. Each Relic is powered by a Crest Stone, which makes the weapon have organic qualities and appear to be alive. While Relics can be used by anyone who is able to acquire them, if an individual lacking the resonating Crest attempted to wield it, they would risk being consumed by the malevolent energy inside the Relic, transforming them into a Demonic Beast.

Crests are tokens of a goddess's power granted to humans on the continent of Fodlan. They are a hereditary aspect and can be passed on to a bearer's child. In Fodlan, Crests have had a significant impact on society. They are often seen as a sign of prestige and respect. Many noble houses value crests and are desperate to obtain one as a sign of their nobility. Houses are known to disown or otherwise disregard all other non-crest bearing children.

Nemesis, also known as the King of Liberation and the Fell King, is the overarching antagonist of Fodlan and the archenemy of Seiros. He is also behind the creation of the Crests, the war upon Fodlan, and the demise of Sothis.

The Officers Academy is an elite facility that trains students in the ways of weapons, magic and special skills in Fodlan. Students are organized into one of three academic houses according to their nationality: the Black Eagles for the Adrestian Empire, the Blue Lions for the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus, and the Golden Deer for the Leicester Alliance. Each house is personally taught by a different professor, and they compete in various competitions held throughout the year.

The Church of Seiros is a religious organization that holds power over the continent of Fodlan. It was made by Seiros who would eventually change her name into Rhea.

A student of the Golden Deer House at Garreg Mach Monastery, Lysithea is the youngest student to ever enroll at the Officer's Academy. Despite this, she's already quite gifted at the magical arts. She has two Crests.

She is the granddaughter of the King of Brigid, and is the most foreign of the other students - and is still mastering the language of Fodlan, but is eager to study all she can.
