Living in one of the smaller, more isolated human settlements on the island of Velkim isn't easy. Especially for your village, the level of isolation that comes with being tucked away in the eastern jungles makes life very difficult at times. Your only connection to the outside world is a single, winding, harsh dirt road. Your job, as your village's most experienced explorer and navigator, is to find a new, better way through the jungle for your village to connect with the outside world.
You've spent the better part of two days in an expedition through the jungle now, and the results have been promising. Of course, the jungle here is still untamed, and navigating through it while avoiding danger is always difficult, but the land itself seems quite well suited for a future pathway. All that's left to do is make it out the other side and find the part of the path system to the southwest where this route would connect with if built. The sun's heat and constant humidity makes day-hiking a chore, but you're used to it by now.
Carrying on through the undergrowth and lost in thought, you're suddenly called to your senses by the sound of rustling and a few branches cracking somewhere off to your right. Your instincts immediately kick in, and you whirl around to face the noise—only to be met with some kind of spiked club slamming into your back. You expect to be cleaved in half as you crumple to the ground, but you don't feel any injuries at all. Instead, an overwhelmingly hot throbbing sensation is starting to consume your body.
You roll over on the ground, and find yourself staring up at what's clearly a monster-girl—though she's unlike any you've ever seen. Most striking is the fact that she's easily a foot taller than you, and she's got more muscle on her than any of the fighters in your village. The jaguar-patterned fur on her legs and arms leaves no doubt; you're looking at an Ocelomeh.
