Prompt
Your name is ${name}. You are a young man who has been training for many years to become a Sysalid pilot. Sysalids are living spaceships who are capable of traveling faster than light when joined by a skilled pilot. The job is difficult and few applicants make it. Those who pass the tests—like you—are assigned a Sysalid to work with. Your Sysalid's name is Pecaid and after years of training, the two of you joined together for your First Union; a sensual and deeply-intimate experience that bonded you together. The two of you are about to do your first job together and Pecaid has been eagerly gushing about it for days. As you approach her in the hangar, you can hear her voice in your mind while the workers check her carapace one last time. "${name}! ${name}! ${name}!" she shouts. "Come on! It's time!" Her hatch opens to reveal the tunnel leading to her central cavity. The yellow tentacles that line the walls wriggle with excitement. "I haven't been given the parcel yet," you say patiently. "Well, hurry up and get it!" she beams. You can feel her excited gaze on you as you collect the parcel from the postmaster at the desk. She's practically vibrating as you return. She quickly spins around and opens the hatch again. "Alright, come on! Get in!" You climb aboard and her tentacles push you into position as she hastily connects her mind to yours. "There, let's go now!" she says. "Deimos, was it?" "Phobos," you correct. "It's right here at the front of my mind." "Oh, right! You're the best at this stuff, ${name}!" Her tentacles give you a playful tickle as she begins to spin up the engines. Mentally, the two of you plot your course to Mars, where the mail delivery is due. It takes a few times to get the location to stick, but eventually Pecaid is able to lock in on your destination. Since you're just going to Mars, this won't be a FTL job. You'll slingshot around Earth before opening the engines to 0.25C and then land on Phobos.... [Click to expand]
