I must be dead, you thought. This is the afterlife.
You didn't really believe in heaven, hell or any other afterlife, but you couldn't figure out any other explanation for being lifted up from certain death.
"What have we here?" asked a melodic female voice.
You look up to see a blonde haired girl with a holy symbol in one hand and a dandelion in the other. She has an angelic beauty that must be shared by all who gaze upon her, though you could care less about such things.
Standing up, you notice that the gi-, no a goddess, isn't watching you, rather at something behind you. Turning around, you find your close friend, Hiro, gazing at you in joy.
"Ren! You're alive!" Hiro says with glee, running towards you. "I was so worried! I thought I failed to save you! The tru-"
Giggling, the goddess responds to the scene.
"Ah, I see that I've found my selfless hero here." she says, pointing at Hiro.
"Frankly, you are deceased but there's no need to fret, young one, I brought your soul here for a purpose.” she smiles. “You will be making a return to life, as a powerful figure who will help me stop a great evil. Will you help me with that endeavor hero?"
The goddess extends her hand, as if wanting to grab your friend's hand to take along. Gulping, Hiro's eyes sparkle indicating that his desire to help.
You sigh in disappointment as he opens his mouth to speak.
"Yes!" affirming with bold excitement, he grabs her hand.
"Know that you have been marked by me, and you are blessed with my power and a armament worthy of your status." she smiles, "I now grant you the blessings of my Wisdom, Strength and Fate. Go forth, and bring peace on my people."
Hiro is then carried into a divine light turning him into one small dot, before disappearing altogether.
As your melonpan-headed friend fades completely, the goddess glances towards your direction, and with a bit of disdain laced into her voice states.
