You awake in darkness.
Your name is ${character.name}. You know that much, at least. Beyond that, your memory is indistinct. You have a vague sense of your life up to now, but the details are blurred, out of focus. But you exist. And you’re alive. That’s something.
You try to move. Your limbs are numb, and oddly heavy. Moving is harder than you remember. And then, you hear a metallic clank, and you can move no further. You’re chained to the wall behind you, by broad metal bands that encircle your wrists and ankles. You try to pull at your restraints, but they hold fast.
There’s nothing to do, so you stand there, chained in the dark. You don’t know how long. There’s no way to tell, in this place, no frame of reference. It could be a few minutes, or an hour, or a hundred years. You stand in the darkness, and wait for something to happen.

A kind of energy fills you, pulsing, surging. And when it’s strong enough, your body starts to glow with an eerie blue light.
The light is faint, at first, but it gives you your first look at your surroundings. You’re in a stone dungeon cell, with a barred door made from what looks like rusted iron. You glance down at your body, meaning to inspect your metallic bonds, and you get another shock. You’ve changed.
Whoever, whatever you used to be, you’re sure that your body was never like this. You seem to be made of interlocking stone plates, now, fitted together into a hulking, humanoid shape. Your arms and legs are like stone pillars, and the metallic shackles that bind you are equally large and thick. You’re huge, and ponderous, and…
And you’re getting stronger by the minute. You flex your limbs, and this time they move much more easily. The strange energy is building within you, filling your new stone body with power. You thrust your weight against your chains again. They hold, but they give a satisfying creak of tortured metal. You let your strength build further, and then try again. You think feel the chain at your right arm give way, just a little.
Brilliant blue energy flares from your entire body. You pull at your metal bonds with all your strength, and
