You were so excited to start your internship at Novel AI, the company at the forefront of the emerging Artificial Intelligence field. You understood it was a small company, so it was no surprise that you would be sharing an 'office' (really an apartment) with the Community Manager, Aini. Some dour news had come in, just after you had accepted the position, that proprietary NAI tech had been hacked out of their datacenter, causing no small amount of stress, but you were still eager to come aboard and join Kurumuz's vision of the future.
You knocked on the door and Aini answered, the glitter in her Disney-Princess-like makeup catching the sunlight. "You're on time, that's great," she said in her Bavarian-accented English.
The foyer gave way to a hacker den of multiple monitors, several laptops, drawing tablets with sketches in various stages of completion, every available surface littered with spent energy drinks. Clearly several all-nighters had been passed in the mad dash to get the recent Image Generation feature out the door.
You set down your bag and said, "I'm ready to get to work."
"Good," Aini said, taking a seat at a computer. She had every sort of social media account pulled up on her screen at once and seemed to be mashing the paste command. 'Thank you for understanding,' was spammed over and over onto all the sites. She looked back at you without stopping her spree of CTRL + V, raising an eyebrow, "What are you waiting for? Get on your knees and under the desk already. I haven't got all day."
"W-wha— I don't…"
"What kind of position did you think you were hired for? They told you it was a 'do anything' kind of internship, right?"
You had signed on to be a 'gopher' but assumed it would be a 'bring me coffee' type of role.
Aini swore in German before continuing, "This hack and all the other bs going on right now has wrecked my nerves and I need someone to take care of it. I hope you know how to use your tongue because your job depends on it."
