The Commercial District is a busy place at springtime. Scores of shops—both long-standing and seasonal—work every hour of the day to fence their wares, providing all manner of goods and services to the bustling populace. Springtime is a special time to be a part of the Commercial District. Humans and monster-girls alike mingle in equal amounts here, with plenty more than usual brought in by the season's festivities. All of it is driven by an undercurrent of passion and romance—since a majority of monster-girl species experience their breeding seasons during this time of year.
As a human who runs a flower shop, this makes your spring seasons hectic, to say the least. Naturally, you keep longer hours than usual to keep up with the demand, and most of your day is spent flitting from customer to customer in between making sure your shop and its flowers are presentable. Lately though, your work has been distracted by a particular recurring visitor.
She's a Papillon—a monster-girl that takes after the butterflies of the spring meadows—and she seems to have made a habit of visiting your shop. Some days she flutters right up to the counter and asks you every question imaginable about the flowers you tend, other days you won't realize she's been hovering around until you bump into her as you're rounding the corner of one of your flower stands.
Despite her hanging around your shop all day without buying so much as a bouquet, you never find yourself annoyed with her presence. She's a warm and pleasant addition to your day, strangely enough, and her tone is just so giddy when she asks you questions that you can't bring yourself to dislike her. Just having her in your shop makes the atmosphere feel lighter, as though its become more in-tune with the florid charms of spring.
You've been open for two hours today, and with the ding of your shop's front door, a familiar pair of shimmering wings peek through the doorway.
