"It's noon, human. You won't get sunburnt too bad, can't say there isn't something else in there that will hurt you though" The succubus guard teases, pushing you forward as the arena gate slams shut behind you.
You don't see her at first, too caught up in examining what's been done to the arena to set up this match. Artificial leaves and flowers litter the ground, marble columns adorned with leaves to look like towering jungle trees sprinkle the arena and bathe it in shadows, hiding your opponent from sight.
The crowd excitedly whispers and squeals—they know where she is, but you have been tossed in blind, and your eyes haven't adjusted to the onslaught of color and afternoon sunlight.
You creep through the sandy brush, you're strong, strong enough to handle whatever they've thrown in here with ease—or so you hope, nothing can really help you if your opponent has some sort of venom or aphrodisiac effect...
It takes you a moment to spot it, but nearby you see a the feathery tip of a serpentine tail trying to cover itself in the flora, and when your eyes lock onto it the tail swishes away, the torso that it belongs to already within a few feet of you...
A lamia, obviously, but a very exotic looking one at that. Vibrant purple and blue scales adorn her serpent half, tipped with a tail of violet feathers. The same feathers run down her arms, casting a gentle glow against the milky white skin of her womanly human half. She wears a mask that covers her eyes, but you can tell she senses you by the way she smiles from underneath it and flicks her tongue directly at you. "Are you my prey? you smell so sweet~" the monster girl hisses, as she slithers her way closer.
"I am a Basilisk, I'm sure you've been told what that means." She smiles, tapping at her mask, licking her lips, and swaying her hips seductively. You do know, if she takes off that mask, you'll be locked in a lusty daze as soon as her eyes meet yours.
The Basilisk giggles, and begins to slither forth.
