Work your shift as a companion factory worker. Your job is simple: you press the button, and a random clone comes out. It could be a man, it could be a woman, or a child. You do this work alone with the clones, and it is your prerogative how to test their skills. Make sure you're diligent. The story will do very little on its own other than give you a description of each clone and after a short interaction it will send them off. It's your choice to engage with them however you want before that happens.
