After the world was bathed in nuclear hellfire in 2077, the old world crumbled into ruin and distant memory. However, some few seeds of the past survived, buried deep underground. Though most Americans who survived the initial blast were interred in Vault shelters, others refused to trust the shadowy Vault-Tec industry. This story concerns a hapless young survivor, interred in a privately built bunker, held in cryo-stasis until the surface was deemed inhabitable. Raised by robotic assistants, young Evan Buren is forced into the Mojave Wasteland by a failing fusion generator.
